Vibrant, Bold and Colourful! Why I edit the way I do.
Things I like when I edit pictures are to have a eye catching colourful image that draws the viewer into the picture. Typically I don’t want a super stylized look. This is a personal preference but I tend to enjoy vibrant and colourful images more because they look more natural. For me to achieve this look I like for my reds, blues and greens to be very bold. I chose those 3 colors because I read about different types of primary colors. In short there are 2 different types of primary colors Subtractive colors (yellow, red, blue aka the more familiar primary colors) and then additive colors (red, blue, green aka light primary colors). The main difference is colors you get by mixing light are additive and colors you get from removing portions of the spectrum are subtractive. Red, Blue, and Green are additive and they are referred to light primary colors. I think subconsciously I wanted my blue and greens to be bold cause I like my skies and green to look good! Red and Yellow and orange are a little tricky cause depending of my subjects skin tone one mistake and boom they have weird looking skin. But typically I adjust my reds and yellows to match my clients skins tone pretty accurately. Anyways thank you for reading my article about color! Fun fact my favourite colors are actually #1 Green and then #2 Blue (particularly a good navy blue).
